What is Joomla!?
Joomla! is a content management system which allows you to easily uourpdate both the contents and format of your website (This website is based on Joomla! and Virtuemart - a free ecommerce component)

To begin with you'll just need to understand how to administer sections, categories and articles to get your content onto your website. Once you have the confidence to start making changes to the look and feel of your website there's over 60 help screens to guide you along the way.
Can I add new functionality to my website?
Joomla!'s component system lets you easily add new functionality to your website. There are over 3500 free and commercial extensions available at Joomla! extensions.
Can I change the format of my website?
Joomla!'s module system lets you place the contents of your website in different places at click of a button or turn them off depending on which page your visitor is viewing or who is actually viewing the page.
Can I change the design of the website ?
If you fancy a new look just simply purchase a new template, install and set it as the default template.
Can I see Joomla! in action with one of your templates?
You can visit the template gallery to see a selection of templates. Both the right and left modules are enabled on the templates.

What are the running costs for a website?
Web host. You'll need to sign up with a web hosting service to host your website and this costs around £4 per month. If you need more disk space or bandwidth you can easily purchase more for around £4-5 per month but your basic allocated disk space / bandwidth allowance should be plenty (Your basic bandwidth allowance will allow you approximately 20k-30k visitors per month)
Domain name. You'll need to register a domain name (i.e www.jimscars.com) via your hosting provider and this will cost around £9 per year for a basic .com / .co.uk address.
What do I do now ?
- Purchase your domain name at web host provider Nativespace and select the web hosting package (£3.11+VAT/month).
- Purchase the Joomla! installation service.
- Purchase your template.
- If you need modifications to the template add the Template changes option to your shopping basket.
- email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your order number and login / password for your new web host account.
- If you would like your logo included on the website include it with your email.
- You'll be emailed when your website is ready (Normally within 24 hours).
- Follow a couple of post-install steps which should take about 5 minutes to complete.
